At this point we have been notified by all cities as to the current status of the COVID-19 impact on our season.
• All outdoors facilities - inclusive of all permitted Cricket Facilities - are closed until June 29th, 2020
• There are no guarantees that the Season will start in July
• The cities will continue to monitor the situation and advise us of their respective Health Officers,
Mayors & Council existing rules on social distancing and all changes as they are declared & confirmed.
• In the event that the outdoors fields do open - be it in July or August -
the cities will require lead time to service all facilities to be ready for play.
• As per the above - it is now 100% confirmed - at this time - that there will be no Cricket in May & June 2020.
We will continue to closely monitor the progress of each city and keep you inform if and when we will be able to stage / salvage any part of a season.
We are all hoping that this Virus can be addressed to a point that it will be considered SAFE for the Health Officers and all levels of governments
(Federal, Provincial & Municipal) to relax the current lock down conditions / definitions to enable existing restrictions and bylaws to be addressed &
modified or removed to allow the opening of outdoors facilities - probably with a new set of regulations.
As they are currently discuss the granular reopening of the economy and cities - with each defining exactly what is being opened & the new regulations
that will be in place to ensure that people continue to stay safe and the possibility of spreading the virus is fully addressed to prevent a second wave of this virus.
In conclusion - we ask that you stay on top of the daily news from your respective cities' mayors, provincial & federal leaders and their respective health offices,
as well as join with everyone in praying for and thanking all FRONTLINE workers who are putting their lives at risk to save ours & yours.
Stay Safe / Stay Home (if you can) / Stay Healthy.
These are very unprecedented times that demands and warrants abnormal measures to be in place to protect us all - please respect and abide by them.
Respectfully
Praim & the BEDCL Management.
